Refractive Surgery

A refractive error is an error in the focusing of light by the eye and a frequent reason for reduced visual acuity. It is the most common ailment affecting the human eye.

  • Myopia (Nearsightedness): When the optics are too powerful for the length of the eyeball and light rays get focused in front of the retina.
  • Hypermetropia (Farsightedness): When the optics are too weak for the length of the eyeball and light rays get focused beyond the retina.
  • Cylindrical errors or astigmatism: Occur when the optical power of the eye is too powerful or too weak across one meridian.
  • Presbyopia: When the flexibility of the lens declines typically due to age. Individual would experience difficulty in reading etc.

Apart from diagnosis of these errors we deal with with supplying full range of opticals as well as contact lens.
At KEC we also offer surgery for removal of spectacles by LASER-LASIK / Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL )

  • LASIK: laser vision correction can correct myopia -9.00 D, Hyperopia upto +6.00D and astigmatism upto 6.00 D. we are equipped with advanced software for laser vision correction with great accuracy and safety.
  • Implantable contact lens (ICL): This surgery corrects higher degree of refractive error. It involves intraocular augmentation of the natural lens with additional lens to correct refractive error.
