Dr. Naginder Vashisht graduated from Kasturba Medical College in 2003. Subsequently, he did his post-graduation from the prestigious Dr. R. P.Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences; AIIMS.He was awarded as the Best Junior Resident at the centre for the year 2005-06.He received his further training in uvea and vitreo-retina from the same institute. He underwent observership in Vitreo-retina and ocular trauma under the guidance of Dr. Robert Morris, MD at Retina Specialist of Alabama, USA in May 2010. He obtained his fellowships from International Council of Ophthalmology (London) in 2008 and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2010

Dr. Vashisht's area of specialisation in Ophthalmology includes Phacoemulsification, Uvea, Vitreo-retina and Ocular trauma. He has been routinely performing cataract surgeries under topical anaesthesia and complex retinal surgeries including retinal detachments, diabetic vitrectomies, paediatric retinal detachments, foreign body removal, macular hole surgery, epiretinal membrane removal etc. His areas of interest in medical retina include diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), uveitis, ocular trauma and lasers.

He has presented several papers, posters and videos on scientific research at several national and international conferences including AAO, ARVO, ESCRS, EURETINA, Asia ARVO and EVER.. He has presented instruction courses on Osteo-odonto keratoprostheses at AIOS in 2007 and Giant Retinal Tear in AAO in 2010. He has more than 12 indexed scientific publications to his credit and has contributed few chapters in text books He has worked as co-investigator in multicentric FDA approved clinical trials at AIIMS which include FAME Study, VIEW-2 Study, GALILEO Study and Posurdex DME Study.He is a member of DOS, AIOS, VRSI. ARVO and ESCRS.

He worked as an Associate Consultant at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and is presently working as visiting consultant at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Maharaja Agrasen Hospital, Fortis Hospital, Artemis hospital , Central Railways Hospital and Mata Chanan Devi Hospital.
